Counselling Services

Someone to support you in your time of need

The Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity offers 100% funded counselling sessions for both children and their immediate family members after experiencing the loss of a loved one.  This resource was the initial vision when the charity was created in 2011. The Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity opened the Counselling and Resource Centre in Port Coquitlam in 2015 and can provide counselling out of the Centre.

CRCCS works alongside counsellors who specialize in supporting both children and adults through the grieving process. Clients are not limited to seeing these counsellors.  If you are located outside the tri-cities area, already seeing a counsellor, or request a counsellor specialized in specific areas, funding can still be approved.  Counselling sessions are funded for clients seeing a new counsellor or continuing sessions with an existing counsellor.   A counsellor is any therapist recognized in the province of BC and proof of certification is required prior to approval.

Upon review and acceptance of the charities criteria, up to ten 100% funded counselling sessions can be arranged. Payment of the counselling sessions are arranged with CRCCS and the counsellor.  No payment is required on behalf of the client.  Unless stated otherwise by the counsellor, a 24 hour notice for cancelled appointments are required.  A fee will be charged for no shows or appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hr notice.  It is the responsibility of the client to pay the fees for late cancellations and/or no-shows.  These fees are not covered by the Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity.
